Look, there’s nothing like enough coverage of local news in the the District of Columbia, and so much of what we get is diluted by the news about the surrounding suburbs. The Washington Post gutted its metro section, WAMU shutdown DCist, even Axios cutback on its city coverage.

What’s left? Not enough. Some television reporters, a couple of (excellent) neighborhood blogs, and fledgling upstarts like the District Local.

Our focus is on the District of Columbia. If it happened in Montgomery County, Arlington County, or Prince Georges, it’s not local for us. That’s our promise to you. only inside the milepost markers that lay out the district. We’ll promise original reporting, roundups of what other folks are rporting, and we hope to keep you coming back.

Who am I?

Eric Wolff (Owner, managing editor, reporter, gofer) has been a journalist for 23 years and counting (Here’s my LinkedIn). I’ve covered national news, local news, and industry news, and in every format. As far as I’m concerned, local news is the news that matters: Every political scandal, traffic accident, weird museum, and awesome new business matters more immediatly to the 700,000 residents of our fair city than national housing policy or the latest twist of the Farm bill. The city is undercovered, and I’m here to help fix that.
